The New DUMBO Ride @ Disney’s Magic Kingdom
The iconic ride, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, is one not to be missed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. You know it, it’s located right behind Cinderella’s Castle and it usually has one of the longest lines…yep that one. Well, on our last visit we were absolutely thrilled to experience the New and Improved Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride!
This area was previously known as Mickey’s Toontown Fair, but it’s now dedicated to the wonderful story of Dumbo featuring the Storybook Circus. Dumbo the Flying Elephant features two mirror-image carousels flying side-by-side. Not only are they able to accommodate double the people now offering to rides, but visually it looks amazing!
The new INDOOR and AIR CONDITIONED, waiting area with an interactive play zone.
Play While You Wait
“This attraction features a new type of queue experience, where Guests wait in an indoor play area instead of a line. The time in this waiting area is included in the wait time posted in front of the attraction. Guests will receive a pager that will notify them when it’s their party’s turn to fly with Dumbo.”
This has got to be the most brilliant thing Disney has done in a long time! We walked in ready to get on line, but we were pleasantly surprised to find this area with a small kid play zone, fun climbing ropes, and Dumbo circling about us. There were plenty of seats for the parents to sit down and take a breather!
My girls loved playing in this rope jungle gym.
Cool, air-conditioned seating for the parents! What a way to re-energize!!
How cute is this place!!
Other Attractions
This fun kiddie roller coaster, the Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm, is located right next to the Fantasyland Train Station.
Parents, bring bathing suits and let the kiddos cool off because the Storybook Circus also features Casey, Jr. the locomotive getting splashed by playful circus animals.
Way to go Disney! The new DUMBO and Storybook Circus is AMAZING!
Have Fun!
