Cypress Pointe Grande Villas

After just returning from a wonderful week in Orlando, Florida, I’m already ready to go back. I guess it’s because I didn’t want to leave in the first place. It might be because we were so comfortably settled into our hotel or maybe it’s because we still had things we wanted to do. Either way, I’m excited to share our action packed week with you…starting with where we stayed!! Over the past few years we’ve probably stayed at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas four times (because my wonderful in-laws are owners) and I’ve never been disappointed.

The Room

For a week long family vacation I always prefer renting a condo/apartment type accommodation because I think it not only provides the best value, but also gives the necessary space to unwind after long days exploring new places! I also really like having a kitchen because it saves us a lot of money eating in instead of out and when we do eat out it gives us a place to store our leftovers. From talking to friends, family, and travelers, I know having a ‘home away from home’ doesn’t always feel like a vacation because you are still doing some work, but for saving money and value this is the way to go!

We were booked in a two bedroom two bathroom unit that was spacious and beautifully appointed! It had a large kitchen, dining room, living room, and a screen porch. Look at how spacious this place it…I think it was bigger than my first apartment!!

Kitchen/Dining Room

The kitchen was stocked with all of the essential things you need including measuring cups, pots, pans, knives, flatware, coffee pot, and toaster. We did need to get coffee filters as we chose not to used the coffee they supplied, but everything else was right there. There is even a walk in pantry which I thought was great.

The huge master bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, separate shower/toilette room, king size bed, and flat screen tv. Having the two bedrooms really allows us to relax at the end of the day and it gives us privacy from the kids while the common areas are the perfect place to come together and visit with each other!

The second bedroom had two twin beds and a flat screen TV. The kids really appreciate their space as much as we do and they had no problem settling into this room! At night they enjoyed falling asleep to movies that we rented from Redbox right across the street.

All of this space comes in handy when you have different activities planned throughout the week. I pack a lot of stuff when we go away and there was a home for all of it!

The Resort

Cypress Pointe Grande Villas is located at the doorstep of all major attractions. It is located off of I-4 and has just about everything you could ever want just minutes away. If you’re visiting Orlando chances are you’re there to do some theme parks, maybe visit the mouse, see some shows, shop, eat, and play, but if you have down time (I hope you do) this resort offers all you’ll need and more. With three pools, a water slide, a game room, playground, volleyball, putt putt, and dive-in movies you’ll have plenty to choose from.

The buildings are set up around all of the activities and there are three different pools to choose from. The main pool has a volcano and water slide as well as beach volleyball and a playground. Next to the turtle pool you have putt putt golf and another playground. The third pool is located next to an activity station where various activities are planned throughout the day.

This pool was the one we used the most. It was quiet and comfortable and only steps from our room!

There is a gift shop and game room in the lobby. The staff is so helpful and they are happy to help in any way they can!

Convenient Location

Located just off of I-4 at Exit 68, Cypress Pointe Grande Villas is not only right across the street from the entrance of Disney World, it is just minutes to other attractions such as Sea World, Aquatica, Dinner Shows, and much much more. There are also several grocery stores to choose from (such as our favorite, Publix)! Winn Dixie is within walking distance and Walgreens is right across the street. The Premium Outlet Mall is about a two miles away and Downtown Disney is probably a 20 minute walk.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • This is a time share. Upon check-in you will be asked to register for a presentation. As someone that is very familiar with the company I don’t mind, but if you’re not interested make sure you let them know that.
  • Because it’s a time share you have to think of it as a vacation home rental.
  • There is no housekeeping unless you stay 8 nights or longer. You may call for clean towels or wash them. Two bedroom units have washers and dryers.
  • Internet is NOT free. You must pay a daily or weekly fee to have Internet access in your room.
  • Parking is Free.
